It’s official I will be graduating in May. Not that this was in extreme question - but I finished one more formality today - my oral comprehensive exams. I sat in a room with three of my professors from graduate school for an hour and answered questions they sent my way. Assuming I complete my papers and finals I will have a MA the day before I turn 25. Now I am looking into my future options. I need to email one of the guys that I have been talking to in TN back.

My left foot is blue - not black and blue as in an injury, but blue as in the color of a sponge painting hue. Tonight at Colonial our art project involved liquid markers (little plastic bottles with ink and a round sponge at the top to draw with). Needless to say some of them squeezed rather than dabbed the sponges/bottles and I stepped right into it (no I wasn’t wearing shoes). There more kids there this week than there have been in a long time - some old and some new. I had two that sat in my lap/leaned up next to me - I am glad that they trust me and feel secure.

Well I am going to watch the rest of Blue Man Group (I really enjoy watching BMG and Stomp) on Leno and clean some before I head to bed (our landlord wants to show our apt while we are in class tomorrow).

5 years at Texas Tech has left me with a certain excitement that comes this time of year. The men and Coach Knight, ended their tourament hopes this weekend in the second round, the women are currently playing now - we’ll see how they fair (If only two of their stars hadn’t had season ending medical issues). Go Lady Raiders!

I went biking again tonight. A year and a half ago I receive a Giant Yukon for Christmas (I haven’t gotten a bike for Christmas since I was a little kid!). It gets used quite often when those Texas late spring/summer days kick in, but it has had to sit through a dormant winter here. But Alas! the warm has returned (if only for a short while) and I have been out four times in the last week. Any day of the week I’d rather ride for an hour than run or walk around a track. (You will not catch me running unless there is a large carnivorous mammal chasing me.)

But tonight I got to ride with a friend of mine who I haven’t seen in awhile - time and miles also go quicker with company. Sometimes I like to ride alone to think, or just not to think - but it is also nice to be in the company of others.

The Bible in sign language - something I have never really given any thought about, but it makes too much sense and it is sad it has taken this long.

I am trying to figure out the best way to handle a situation at work with several employees that work for me who habitually show up late at work or are not pulling their weight. Its frustrating when you can’t (because it would require working mre hours than is allowed) to be there at these problem shifts. Where did work ethic go?

Had a great SLA meeting/small group study last night - maybe I’ll post on it later.

Shameless plug - I have joined a conglomeration of other GST students blogging at http://2ndstorey.blogdrive.com/ - check us out.

I have become involved (over the last year and a half that I have been at ACU) with an apartment ministry (Colonial) to one of the low income apartments that is near the church. Wednesday nights we spend in the apartment complex (we have our own apartment that we meet in) and Sunday they meet with the rest of our congregation - it is important that they are part of the community life.

Sunday one of the little boys sat next to me. The Lord’s Supper is his favorite part. He spent most of the service drawing. His final picture was of him and Jesus jumping rope at Jesus’ house. He talked about just wanting to be able to see Jesus, intermixed with him telling me about a recently violent fight between his parents. It breaks my heart to know some of the histories of these kids and adults, yet it allows me to see first hand what the church is truly suppose to look like when they truly become community.
