I have become involved (over the last year and a half that I have been at ACU) with an apartment ministry (Colonial) to one of the low income apartments that is near the church. Wednesday nights we spend in the apartment complex (we have our own apartment that we meet in) and Sunday they meet with the rest of our congregation - it is important that they are part of the community life.

Sunday one of the little boys sat next to me. The Lord’s Supper is his favorite part. He spent most of the service drawing. His final picture was of him and Jesus jumping rope at Jesus’ house. He talked about just wanting to be able to see Jesus, intermixed with him telling me about a recently violent fight between his parents. It breaks my heart to know some of the histories of these kids and adults, yet it allows me to see first hand what the church is truly suppose to look like when they truly become community.
