The end of the road . . .

Its been a hectic weekend so far and thankfully according to the little clock in the upper right hand corner (its an apple so yes its on top) it is officially over.

Sometime late last week, I officially took a summer position as the Volunteer Coordinator for ACU Leadership Camps. I have to make a decision concerning Kansas - there have been many hours of lacking of sleep as I look at this decision.

Thursday several of my buddies and I saw Man on Fire (we didn’t have Philosophy of Religion and we are getting in some quality girl time before we each head our separate ways). It was a very good movie - artistically it was very very well done (from the subtitles to the music to the nonverbal interaction between characters). The movie was rough - as an movie dealing with revenge. So I recommend it but beware the violence. (Movies coming up that I want to see - In America which comes out on DVD Tuesday, Troy, Shrek 2, Supersize Me, Saved, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and the Terminal - yes its a long list but that’s ok :))

Friday was the last day that our office was open this semester (Team55) - but there is not really a break in that Maymester starts today (Monday the 10th). I had to carry the pager this weekend and through this Tuesday (I told them that it would not get much attention with graduation and all - it is currently sitting on my desk downstairs). Several of us spent a large part of the night here watching Joan of Arcadia and just spending time sitting around talking. I couldn’t fall asleep til early (late?) that night (morning?) - only to wake up at 4:30 sick and not able to fall back asleep (what a way to start graduation day huh?).

More Saturday -
We had a covenant service for the GST at 9:00 and then graduation at 11. My parents came in for both (SBC thankfully at the time was still in negotiations - even though a strike is still possible) and my grandma and step-granddad were here for graduation. I believe that I am the first person to graduate with the MA in Christian Ministry from ACU (the degree was added 2 years ago). I was the fourth person to walk across the stage (after 3 DMin students) and then kept myself entertained with the program for commencement.

Sunday (Mother’s Day) - Highland once every couple of months places a specific emphasis on the Lord’s Supper. Today was our first week back at one service. I was in the front row (and then the second so that two of my girls could be together - reconciliation at work - and look at that - at the table). It was awesome to watch kids with their families - kids who for the first time were taking the Eucharist.

Tonight several of us got together and watched the first Harry Potter movie and now my roommate and I am watching Survivor All-Stars (and the reunion show which we recorded earlier) - and then I am heading to bed.
