It actually worked!!!! What you ask. As mentioned before, I am living on campus at ACU and the internet connection has a smart filter. I have my own personal (and strong) thoughts of this kind of censorship. (I received both of my undergraduate degrees from a state university and I believe that it is beneficial for young adults to have to make choices for themselves and that they might make the wrong ones. However I also understand that ACU has the right to block sites that might be deemed sexually explicit, obscene, etc.) However, as with all things when you try to enact a filter certain sites get blocked that should not be. Such was the sad case for www.thesmokinggun.com - a site that I have greatly come to enjoy (check out the mugshots). However, everything past the index was blocked by the filter. So, in vain I thought (I used to work for information technology so I was not very optimistic that this would actually work), I submitted the site to the company that actually does the filtering. Much to my suprise today I was able to once again browse the smoking gun. WOOHOO.
