recklessly dreaming

Here is a little more information on what I will be doing at Pepperdine. I will be the Coordinator for the Spiritual Life Advisor Program. The SLAs live on campus and “serve as the chaplain or ‘“spiritual shepherd’ to students by fostering an atmosphere that encourages spiritual growth through encouragement, support, and accountability.” The SLCs have all served as SLAs in the past and serve in a mentoring role to the current SLAs. Another part of my job will be to work with student ministries on campus. I worked with a similar part of Campus Life when I was at Grad School at ACU. Here is where I’ll live.

For my peeps in Texas, I’ll be heading that way in just over a week. I will be in Lubbock most of the time - but there will be a stop in Abilene before the long drive west.

Times they are a changing. It is going to be an extremely hectic next few weeks around here. (Around here is currently Manhattan, KS but will soon trek it down to Texas - mainly Lubbock but with stops in Arlington/Duncanville/Abilene adn then the long trek to Malibu, CA.)

I officially accepted a position at Pepperdine earlier this month and will begin making my trek west a week from Monday. In the mean time I am finishing up details here in Manhattan, packing offices and home, getting ready to sell my truck and purchase something smaller (and with better gas mileage), and wrap up all of the other loose ends. Anyone want to come and pack for me? It is my leasst favorite part of moving.

It is time for a shower to remove the sand that attached itself to my body during sand volleyball. More post to come when I want to procrastionate packing/cleaning out.
